Types of Engineering Procurement & Construction-EPC
Turnkey EPC: This type involves a comprehensive service where the contractor manages all aspects of the project from design through to construction and handover, providing a fully operational facility upon completion.
Lump Sum EPC: In this model, the contractor agrees to complete the project for a fixed price. This arrangement requires precise planning and scope definition to manage costs effectively.
Cost-Plus EPC: The contractor is reimbursed for actual costs incurred plus an agreed-upon fee. This model is suitable for projects with uncertain or evolving scopes, providing flexibility but with less cost certainty.
Design and Build EPC: This approach integrates design and construction services under a single contract, promoting better coordination and efficiency by having one entity responsible for both phases.
Joint Venture EPC: Involves collaboration between multiple contractors or firms, combining their expertise to deliver large-scale or complex projects, sharing responsibilities and risks.
EPCM (Engineering Procurement and Construction Management): Here, the contractor manages the procurement and construction phases but does not execute the construction work themselves. They oversee the work of subcontractors and suppliers.
